About Ellens Equipment

In 1954, Ellens Equipment started in the city of McBain. It's founder, June Ellens, purchased the Allis-Chalmers equipment business from Vander Woude Motor Sales which had been selling automobiles and Allis-Chalmers equipment. The new found business was located in the rear of the McBain Hardware store.

In 1968, Ellens Equipment moved into their first building, located on M-66. In the early 1970's, Ellens Equipment expanded its offering to include Ford and New Holland equipment.

Ellens Equipment continued to grow and added New Holland Self-Propelled Forage Harvesters in 2010, followed by the T9 4WD Tractor in 2012. In 2015, Bobcat products were added to the lineup of sales, parts and service, thus expanding the agricultural and construction equipment available to our customers.

Beginning in the summer of 2015, Ellens Equipment broke ground on a new facility east of McBain. By adding space for parts storage and nearly tripling the size of the service department, Ellens Equipment is better equipped to provide exceptional products and service for many years to come. After moving into the new and improved facility in February of 2016, Ellens Equipment expanded further and added New Holland Self-Propelled Sprayers to the extensive line of equipment.

In the spring of 2019, Ellens Equipment began renovating an old grocery store to become the new home of their second location in Ithaca, MI to better reach a rapidly expanding customer base. As a full service dealership, the Ithaca location offers agricultural and construction parts, service and equipment sales. They carry commercial mowers, compact tractors, high horsepower tractors, hay and forage equipment, construction equipment, combines, self propelled sprayers and self propelled forage harvesters. While expanding into a new location in the summer of 2019, Ellens Equipment added Doosan, MacDon and Geringhoff brands to their vast line up of equipment.

In February of 2021, Ellens Equipment acquired a third location in Beal City, a New Holland dealership formerly known as Tilmann Hardware. The acquisition of the Beal City store allowed Ellens Equipment to expand their zero turn lawn mower and power tool offerings through the full line of Husqvarna equipment. The Beal City location offers parts, service, and equipment sales as well as your day to day hardware products.

Also in 2021, the Ithaca store had the exciting opportunity to become a New Holland SP Forage Harvester Parts Hub. This made the Ithaca store one of five New Holland critical down non-stocking parts hubs in North America.

Now Ellens Equipment is an authorized New Holland dealership with three locations in Michigan (McBain, Ithaca, and Beal City), proudly carrying a large selection of new and pre-owned inventory.
